The method comprises the following steps: monitoring a business volume of a set business by a monitoring scheduling platform; judging whether to increase quantity of virtual machines for processing the set business or not according to the monitored business volume; if the judging result is positive, generating and sending a virtual machine expansion instruction to a cloud resource management platform so that the cloud resource management platform increases the quantity of the virtual machines for processing the set business; receiving a virtual machine increase message sent by the cloud resource management platform, wherein the virtual machine increase message comprises identifiers of the increased virtual machines; and adding registration information of the increased virtual machines in load balancing equipment according to the identifiers of the increased virtual machines. Through the method disclosed in the invention, the efficiency of processing the set business can be improved or the hardware resources can be saved.
