Abstract

Automatic gain control of the radio chain of the receiver is provided. At least two radio frequency (RF) signals are received. Each RF signal is received on a respective radio chain from the antenna array. By comparing the at least two RF signals to a threshold, it is determined whether to perform gain control on at least one of the at least two RF signals prior to analog combining the at least two RF signals. A notification is sent to the detector as to whether gain control is performed. An analog combination of at least two RF signals is performed to generate a single input to the detector.
