The method includes steps: A, multicast messages of an ONVIF protocol are sent to all network cameras in a local area network through a network video recorder; B, the network cameras acquire an IP address of the network video recorder according to the received multicast messages; and C, the network cameras automatically adjust IP addresses thereof according to the IP address of the network video recorder in order to be connected with the network video recorder, and are bound to a channel of the network video recorder. According to the system and the realization method thereof, even though the network cameras and the network video recorder are in different network segments, the IPs are adaptively adjusted by the network cameras, the network cameras can be connected with the network video recorder after being in the same network segment, the step of manual distribution and modification of a lot of IPs is omitted, and the establishment of the network video recorder system is realized in a whole-network-connected seamless manner through the ONVIF.
