Embodiments of the invention provide a graphic layer display method and apparatus, an electronic device and a storage medium, and relate to the technical field of computers. The method comprises the steps of receiving a target graphic layer display event initiated by a user; based on the target graphic layer display event, generating a first graphic layer through a graphic user interface of an operation system; rendering the first graphic layer through a map engine and generating a second graphic layer; and performing superposition display on the first graphic layer and the second graphic layer, wherein the first graphic layer is located in an upper layer of the second graphic layer. According to the technical scheme, the following graphic layers can be developed according to UI frameworkdesign provided by the operation system, without complex UI framework design of the map engine, so that the design maintenance cost is reduced while the following performance of the graphic layers isensured.
