The method includes: acquiring a target interface switching event which is used to indicate the switching from a live streaming interface of an application client to any non-live streaming interface, wherein the live streaming interface is used to display a live streaming image based on a player; calling a video data stream received by the player through a floating window control, wherein the floating window control is used to provide a floating window; displaying the live video in the floating window at the non-live streaming interface. The method allows a user to view the live video through the floating window while browsing the non-live interface, therebyensuring the continuity of watching the live content. In addition, a video data stream does not need to be reloaded in the player, thereby optimizing the resource configuration, achieving the seamlessplaying of the live image from the live interface to the floating window, and avoiding the playback.
