Abstract

Apparatus and methods for RRM measurement in NR networks are provided. In a novel aspect, the RRM measurement configuration has one measurement interval for SS blocks and CSI-RS. In one embodiment, the extended MGL (eMGL) is configured such that SS blocks and CSI-RS are measured within the one measurement interval. In another embodiment, a shorter MGL (sMGL) that is shorter than the standard MGL is deployed. In another novel aspect, the CSI-RS is allocated near the SS block such that one measurement interval is allocated to the measurement of the SS and the CSI-RS. In another novel aspect, CSI-RS measurements are configured conditionally. In yet another novel aspect, the UE conditionally decodes the time index of the SS block.
