AI Technical Summary

Problems solved by technology

However, these databases often struggle with inconsistency, unreliability, and generally low quality because data is often collected or crowdsourced from user input
Also, because many attempts have targeted specific populations, geographies, or food categories over a limited period of time, the resulting databases are often fragmented in scope and time
This fragmentation limits its applicability

[0298] Example 1: Healthcare Provider

[0299] End users of the insights and recommendation engine 230 and other features of the platform 200 may include healthcare providers. A healthcare provider can use a GUI-based software interface (eg, a web portal) to monitor and study the effects that different foods may have on a patient's body. Healthcare providers and patients can share or exchange information by each connecting to the platform 200 as a hub. In some instances, the portal can be used to monitor patients with type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes. Figure 36 An exemplary window 3600 of a healthcare provider's portal is shown. On the portal, as shown in window 3600, the healthcare provider can invite new patients 3610, count the number of active patients 3620 who have accepted the invitation, track how participants log meals 3630 and / or activities 3640 number. The healthcare provider can select a meal 3630 and / or activity 3640 image on window 3600 to connect to at least...

[0304] Example 2: Dietary Glucose Monitoring

[0305] introduce

[0306] Every individual is unique. Each individual's body may process food (eg, meals, drinks, etc.) differently than other individuals. Thus, one or more of the same foods may have different effects on biomarkers (eg, glucose levels) in different individuals. Additionally, one or more of the same food products may have different effects on each individual's biomarkers when consumed at different times (eg, in the morning and in the afternoon).

[0307]Numerous databases and services are available to provide food advice, nutritional advice, and health advice. Examples of such databases and services include healthcare providers, food or nutrition manufacturers, restaurants, online and offline food recipes, and scientific articles. However, such nutritional and / or dietary guidelines available to date have not been customized for each individual and are limited in scope (eg, type of food, biomarkers, health stat...

Abstract

The present disclosure provides methods and systems for providing personalized food and health management recommendations. The method may comprise mapping foods by abstracting information from data relating to foods to develop a food ontology. The method may comprise collecting and aggregating a plurality of data sets related to food, health, or nutritional information of a user. The plurality ofdata sets may be provided from a plurality of sources in a two or more data formats. The method may comprise converting the plurality of data sets into a standardized format that may be individualizedfor the user. The method may comprise applying a predictive model to the food ontology and the plurality of data sets of the user in the standardized format to determine effects of food consumption of the user's body.

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 647,552, filed March 23, 2018, U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 783,100, filed December 20, 2018, filed May 16, 2018 U.S. Patent Application No. 15 / 981,832, priority to U.S. Patent Application No. 16 / 359,611, filed March 20, 2019, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety for all purposes. Background technique [0003] Numerous databases and services are available to provide food and nutritional advice. Examples of such databases and services include healthcare providers, food or nutrition manufacturers, restaurants, online and offline food recipes, and scientific articles. Whether for recreational, cosmetic, medical or other purposes, every day individuals inevitably have to rely on multiple sources of information to make food and nutrition related decisions. [0004] Many attempts have been made to generate collections of da...
