The invention provides an automatic dental digital model segmentation method, which belongs to the technical field of dental orthodontics and comprises the following steps: acquiring a dental digital model of a patient; simplifying the dental digital model; performing coordinate system standardization and feature extraction on the dental digital model; the dental digital model is input into a deep learning model for tooth segmentation, the deep learning model needs two steps of use operation, the first step is a training process of the deep learning model, and the first step mainly comprises the following steps: firstly, simplifying the acquired dental digital model of a patient, and removing meaningless redundant triangular patches; secondly, coordinate system standardization and feature extraction are carried out on the dental digital model, and extracted feature information serves as an information source of a deep learning model and is a main basis for segmentation; then, the extracted feature information is input into a deep learning model for training, so that the deep learning model automatically learns proper hyper-parameters, and a deep learning model capable of realizing tooth segmentation is formed; and finally, simplifying the dental digital model, standardizing the coordinate system of the dental digital model, extracting features, and recording the structure and hyper-parameters of the deep learning model capable of realizing tooth segmentation. By means of the method, the dental digital model can be automatically and efficiently segmented, and a basis is provided for the steps of tooth orthodontic diagnosis, virtual tooth arrangement and the like in the later period.
