Abstract

The invention discloses a dimming controller, a light source driving circuit and a method for controlling dimming of a light source. The dimming controller can include a voltage control terminal and a high voltage terminal. The voltage control terminal provides a driving signal which controls a control switch connected with a first lighting element. When the dimming controller operates in a first mode, the driving signal controls the control switch to operate in either a first state or a second state, such that a first current flowing through the first lighting element is adjusted to a target current value. When the dimming controller operates in a second mode, the driving signal controls the control switch to operate in the second state to cut off the first current. The high voltage terminal is coupled to the voltage control terminal, and connected with the second lighting element by a control circuit. When the dimming controller operated in the second mode, the high voltage terminal conducts a current flowing through the control circuit and the second lighting element to turn on the second lighting element. The invention achieves a relatively wide range of dimming for the LED light source, thereby increasing the energy utilization efficiency and improving the dimming stability of the LED light source.
