Abstract

The present invention provides a method of transmitting a paging message in Machine Type Communication (MTC), comprising: calculating a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) code of the paging message, wherein the paging message includes an identifier of a target MTC device; attaching the calculated CRC code to the paging message; removing at least part of the target MTC device identifier from the paging message; transmitting the paging message. The present invention further provides a method of receiving a paging message in Machine Type Communication (MTC), and a base station and an MTC device corresponding to the above method. The present invention simplifies the paging message of low-cost MTC UE for coverage enhancement. The payload size of the paging message is reduced, and the UE-specific coverage enhancement needs are supported very well so that a spectrum efficiency for the low-cost MTC UE is improved.
