The method comprises the steps of receiving operation instructions on the terminal, wherein the operation instructions are used for carrying out unlocking or screen waking up, judging whether the times of the received operation instructions in the preset time is larger than the preset value; starting the preset service function if the times of the received operation instructions in the preset time is larger than the preset value. According to the function starting method, when the times of the received operation instructions on the terminal by the user in the preset time is larger than the preset value, it shows that the user is might in an insomnia state, the terminal starts the preset service function to help the user to release the insomnia emotion, and the user experience is improved.
