The subwoofer comprises a low pass filter, an audio sensor, a frequency spectrum modification circuit and a voltage-controlled gain amplifier. The lower pass filter has an input end in connection with an output end of a television line and filters required lower-frequency audio signals. The audio sensor is disposed adjacent to a loudspeaker of a television. Audio signals of the television that are detected by the audio sensor go through the frequency spectrum modification circuit, and feedback of low sound and other unwanted components are filtered, thereby forming a level envelop line representing the real-time volume of the television. Then the volume of the low-frequency audio signals outputted by the low pass filter is controlled by the level via the voltage-controlled gain amplifier.
