Abstract

The invention provides a graphene based passive depolarizer which is used to adjust the polarization degree of laser. The depolarizer is characterized by comprising a condensation unit and a polarization adjustment unit, the polarization adjustment unit is arranged in an optical path of the condensation unit, and separated from the condensation unit; and the polarization adjustment unit includes a garnet film in which graphene grows. The invention also provides a method for preparing the passive depolarizer. The method is characterized in that the garnet film in which graphene grows is prepared via a chemical vapor deposition method, and serves as the polarization adjustment unit. According to the passive depolarizer provided by the invention, the distance between the condensation unit and polarization adjustment unit is adjusted to adjust the polarization degree of laser linearly, the adjustment range is wide, and the adaptability is high; and according to the preparation method of the passive depolarizer, preparation can be completed via common materials and fewer steps, the cost is low and preparation is easy.
