The method comprises that a preset application which runs at present in the mobile terminal is monitored; an expected network transmission rate of the preset application which runs at present is calculated; a practical network transmission rate generated when the mobile terminal is connected to a present wireless access point is detected; whether the practical network transmission rate is lower than the expected network transmission rate is determined; and when the practical network transmission rate is lower than the expected network transmission rate, an instruction request for switching the present wireless access point to another wireless access point is sent to the mobile terminal. According to the invention, the request for switching to another wireless access point can be sent to the mobile terminal when the detected network transmission rate of the mobile terminal cannot meet a practical requirement.
