The invention discloses a method for estimating value of commodity stocks. The method comprises the steps of determining selling periods and a total selling period which is composed of the selling periods; acquiring a preset clearance selling price, a price-demand relation, a stock number and a unit stock cost of a preset commodity stock; calculating a stock value of the community stock which is obtained through using a clearance selling number which corresponds with the selling period and the selling price that corresponds with the selling period in selling out the stock number of commodity stocks in the total selling period; and using the maximal value of the stock value of the commodity stocks in a first selling period as the estimated stock value of the commodity stocks. The invention further discloses a method for selling the commodity stocks. The methods of the invention settle a problem of no systematical and automatic stock value solution of the commodity stocks for selling the commodity stocks.
