The method comprises the following steps: I, selecting sandy mudstone in an area to be tested, and manufacturing a cylindrical sandy mudstone test sample; II, testing a damage limit loading value as uniaxial compressive strength of the sandy mudstone, of the sandy mudstone test sample in the step I; III, fitting the value of the uniaxial compressive strength tested in the step II by using a least square method, so as to obtain the relationship between water contents and the uniaxial compressive strength; fitting the value of the tested uniaxial compressive strength by using the least square method, so as to obtain the relationship between dry densities and the uniaxial compressive strength; IV, fitting the relationship between ratios (exp (rhod/w )) of different dry densities to water contents and the uniaxial compressive strength of the sandy mudstone by using the least square method, and according to a curve diagram of the relationship between the ratios (exp (rhod/w )) of the different dry densities to the water contents and the uniaxial compressive strength of the sandy mudstone, establishing mathematic expressions of the uniaxial compressive strength of the sandy mudstone based on the water contents and the dry densities.
