Embodiment Construction

[0040] Some wireless communication systems may support sequence-based transmissions. Sequence-based transmissions may include wireless transmissions that include a sequence generated by a transmitting device and that may be used by the transmitting device to distinguish its communications from transmissions of other devices. Various sequences may be generated for wireless transmission to another device, where the various sequences may have properties such that there is a limited correlation between the sequences, enabling efficient detection of different sequences at the receiving device. An example of this might include Zadoff-Chu (ZC) sequences, where a cyclically shifted version of the ZC base sequence can generate multiple different sequences that can be included in the transmission. For example, the ZC sequence can be used in the random access procedure.

Abstract

Methods, systems, and apparatus for wireless communication are described. As part of a two-step random access procedure, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a random access preamble to a base station. The UE may generate a preamble by identifying a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) matrix and generating a set of sequences based on the DFT matrix. Each sequence in the set of sequences may be generated by selecting a column of the DFT matrix and performing deterministic sampling on respective entries from the selected column according to a sampling function. The UE may then select a sequence from the set of sequences based on generating the set of sequences. The UE may transmit the selected sequence to a wireless device (e.g., a base station).

Description

[0001] cross reference [0002] This patent application claims U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 904,827, filed September 24, 2019, by Yang et al. US Patent Application No. 17 / 010,402, entitled "PARTIAL DISCRETE FORURIER TRANSFORM-BASED SEQUENCE DESIGN AND APPLICATION TO RANDOM ACCESS CHANNEL PREAMBLES," filed September 2, 2009; each of which is assigned to the present assignee. technical field [0003] The following relates generally to wireless communications, and more specifically to partial Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) based sequence design and application to random access channel preambles. Background technique [0004] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide various types of communication content such as voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, and so on. These systems may be able to support communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (eg, time, frequency, and power). Examples of such multiple-acc...
