Embodiment Construction

[0053] For each input fingerprint image, the process of the present invention is as follows image 3 As shown, the specific classification process is as follows:

[0054] 1. Divide each square into a background block or a foreground block (the area containing the fingerprint). The method of differentiation is based on the mean and variance. The average value of block (i, j) is m ( i , j ) = 1 m × n Σ m = i - M / 2 i + M / 2 Σ n = j - N / 2 ...

Abstract

This invention relates to an automatic fingerprint identification and sorting system and method, which divides the fingerprint into six kinds: arch, sharp arch, left rotation, right rotation and whirl and singular and is based on the number of the fingerprint singular points and surround ridge line direction. The method comprises the following steps: to divide the fingerprint images into front area and back area through the dividing program; to form a block field image to the print image in the front area; to determine the position and direction of the singular points by use of block direction field; to divide the print into six kinds according to the number and direction of the singular points and the pre-set rules.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of computer technology, in particular to an automatic fingerprint identification and classification system and method. Background technique [0002] Everyone has unique fingerprint characteristics. Fingerprint matching is the most important identification method for the person to be identified. Fingerprint matching can be performed on two levels, one is coarse matching and the other is exact matching. During the coarse matching process, fingerprints are classified into five categories: arch, pointed arch, right-handed, left-handed, and swirl. Exact matching is achieved by extracting the minutiae points, and the similarity of two fingerprints is achieved by comparing the minutiae points of the two fingerprints. Although coarse matching cannot uniquely identify a fingerprint, it is very useful in the process of determining that two fingerprints do not match. For example, a right-handed fingerprint can only match a r...
