Benefits of technology

The present invention provides a new piece of case furniture with a recessed handle that allows for the insertion of a lighting device. Only one profiled element is needed to place the insert profile, and it can be attached to different points of the furniture. The insert profile has a set-back portion that allows for easy gripping behind the furniture front and secure hold through positive-fit surfaces. The lighting device is guided through a through-opening in the rear wall and into the carcass of the furniture. The technical effects of this design include reduced discomfort, efficient lighting, and improved design flexibility.

Problems solved by technology

In order to form such recessed handles, profiled elements are generally attached behind the furniture fronts, which form the end of the gripping space at the back such that it is not possible to see into the piece of case furniture from the front.
A corresponding procedure is then no longer possible if recessed handles are intended to be formed between two furniture fronts.
On the one hand, therein lies the problem that a lower side, as in the worktop, for attaching a light is then generally not provided, and, on the other hand, a light provided behind the front in the recessed handle would prevent an adjoining furniture front from being grasped from the rear side in any case and would block the gripping space in this respect.

Embodiment Construction

[0024]In the sectional view shown in FIG. 1, the entire piece of case furniture is not shown for the purpose of a better overview. Only the region of two furniture fronts 1, 2 is shown, between which a recessed handle 4 is formed. The recessed handle 4 is delimited by the two opposite narrow sides of the furniture fronts 1, 2 and is delimited at the back by the profiled element 3. According to the invention, the profiled element 3 is C-shaped or U-shaped, comprising a base portion and two limb portions that are adjacent thereto.

[0025]FIG. 2 is an enlarged view of the cut-out in FIG. 1. Only part of the base portion 30 as well as one limb 32 and the transition region 31 of the profiled element are shown, which transition region is provided between the two limbs and comprises a round portion in the example shown, but which can by all means also be angular. An insert profile 5 is inserted into the profiled element on the inner side, which, in the example shown, interlockingly rests aga...

Abstract

A piece of case furniture with at least one furniture front. A set-back recessed handle as a profiled element arranged on the rear side of the furniture front that faces away from the front side of the furniture front is arranged behind the furniture front, the main longitudinal extension direction of which extends parallel or perpendicular to the plane of the base. The profiled element has a substantially C- or U-shaped cross section transversely to the main longitudinal extension direction. Lateral portions that do not lie in the plane of the base are attached to either side of the base of the profiled element and form the lateral limbs of the C- or U-shaped cross section. An insert profile is arranged on the inner side of the profiled element adjacent to at least one of the lateral portions, in which insert profile a lighting device is or can be received.
