Abstract

The invention provides a phaseolus vulgaris L. germplasm improvement method. The method comprises the following steps: 1) sowing seeds of phaseolus vulgaris L. varieties with low PHA (phytohemagglutinin) contents or excellent economical characters, and performing planting management; 2) performing hybridization on a phaseolus vulgaris L. variety with the low PHA content as a female parent and a phaseolus vulgaris L. variety with excellent economical characters as a male parent in the step 1), and collecting seeds; 3) sowing the collected seeds in a single plant sowing manner, and performing planting management; 4) calculating the content of PHA in commercial mature pods of phaseolus vulgaris L. planted in the step 3); 5) collecting seeds obtained in the step 3), screening a strain with low PHA according to results of the step 4), sowing the phaseolus vulgaris L. seeds with low PHA in a single plant sowing manner, and performing planting management; and 6) repeating the step 4) and thestep 5) till a fifth to sixth strain, so as to obtain germplasm with the low PHA content.
