Abstract

The invention relates to an apparatus for preparing foodstuffs comprising a steam generator (1), a container (2) comprising a removable bowl (3) receiving a removable cooking basket (4) furnished withperforations (17) in its bottom portion, the said container being closed by a lid (5), characterized in that the steam produced by the generator (1), arriving through an opening (7) situated in the top portion of the container (2), is guided beneath the cooking basket (4) via a channel (6) arranged between the cooking basket (4) and the bowl (3), and escapes through at least one orifice (8) situated in the top portion of the container (2).
