Abstract

The invention discloses a charging method and system for international virtual private network (IVPN) prepaid service. The method comprises the following steps: a service control point (SCP) of the IVPN service judges whether a received communication request is prepaid service; if so, the SCP sends a charging request to an on-line charging system (OCS); the OCS communicates with the SCP in real time according to the charging request to obtain the available time of communication and perform real-time time length reservation on the communication until the communication is completed or the credit line of the account to which the communication belongs is exhaust; and the OCS charges on the total time used in the communication. The invention mainly aims to provide the charging method and system for the IVPN prepaid service, thus providing on-line charging for prepaid service of IVPN subscribers and reducing owing risk.
