[0026] figure 1 It is a flowchart of a method for sending an Ethernet frame in an Ethernet tree service in an embodiment of the present invention. The method includes:

[0027] 102. The VLAN bridge receives the Ethernet frame sent by the root node or the leaf node.

[0028] The VLAN bridge in the PE device receives an Ethernet frame from a customer edge (Customer Edge, CE) device, where the Ethernet frame can be a tagged or untagged Ethernet frame. The CE device sending the Ethernet frame can be connected to the PE device through AC or User Network Interface (UNI) as a root node or a leaf node, and the PE device can receive the Ethernet frame according to the attribute of the UNI, or Other conditions determine the node type of the CE device sending the Ethernet frame. Whether the attribute of AC or UNI is root or leaf is a configurable service attribute of the E-Tree service.

Abstract

The invention relates to the field of network communication, in particular to a method for transmitting an Ethernet frame in an Ethernet tree business and a provider edge device. The method comprises the following steps: a virtual local area network (VLAN) network bridge receives the Ethernet frame transmitted by a root node or a leaf node; the VLAN network bridge imports the Ethernet frame into a root VLAN or a leaf VLAN according to the type of a node for transmitting the Ethernet frame and transmits the Ethernet frame to the same virtual switch instance (VSI), wherein the VSI is connected with the VLAN network bridge by at least one root VLAN and at least one leaf VLAN; and the VSI transmits the Ethernet frame to a corresponding opposite-end provider edge (PE) device via a pseudo wire. By using a technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention, the VLAN is associated with the type of the node for transmitting the Ethernet frame and the leaf nodes of the E-Tree are effectively isolated to assure the original expansibility of VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of network communication, in particular to a method for sending an Ethernet frame in an Ethernet tree service and an operator edge device. Background technique [0002] E-Tree is an Ethernet Virtual Connection (EVC) service defined by the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), and it has the following characteristics: [0003] Root (Root) node to leaf (Leaf) node is a one-to-many relationship, and there may be multiple Root nodes; [0004] The Ethernet frame of the Root node can be sent to any Root node and Leaf node, and the Ethernet frame of the Leaf node can be sent to any Root node; [0005] Leaf nodes cannot communicate with each other and need to be isolated. [0006] Asymmetric VLAN technology can implement E-Tree services on Ethernet. In the asymmetric VLAN technology, the root node and the leaf node are connected to the switch through the root port and the leaf port respectively in an untagged manner; configure a sep...
