Abstract

The invention provides a method for performing X2 switch through HeNB (home evolved NodeB), and is used when UE (user equipment) moves between HeNBs and between HeNB and macro eNB. The method comprises the following steps: an MME (mobility management entity) or HeNB gateway (HeNB GW) sends the MME identifier of the MME of UE to a source HeNB (S-HeNB); when the S-HeNB decides to switch UE to the destination HeNB (T-HeNB), the S-HeNB sends a switch request message including the MME identifier to the T-HeNB; the T-HeNB sends a path switch request message to the MME; and the MME sends a path switch request acknowledgement message to the T-HeNB. By using the method provided by the invention, frequent interaction with the core network in the switch process when switch is performed through S1 can be reduced on the premise of ensuring successful X2 switch so as to reduce influence of the switch process on the core network and reduce the switch delay.
