Embodiment Construction

[0061] Hereinafter, an exemplary embodiment of a refrigerator and an operating method thereof will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0062] Such as Figure 1 to Figure 3 As shown, a refrigerator as embodied and broadly described herein may include: a main body 2 having storage compartments F and R formed therein; and doors 4 and 6 for opening and closing the storage compartments F and R. A cooling device 40 for cooling the storage chambers F and R may be installed on the main body 2 . Shelves 8 and 10 and drawers 12 and 14 may be provided in storage compartments F and R for accommodating items stored in the refrigerator.

[0063] The doors 4 and 6 are rotatable in one of a lateral direction or a vertical direction corresponding to the main body 2 . Baskets 16 and 18 may be vertically disposed on the doors 4 and 6 for receiving storage items J, M and W when the doors 4 and 6 are closed, and may be disposed facing the interior of the storage...

Abstract

A refrigerator may include a main body having a storage chamber formed therein, a cooling device for cooling the storage chamber, and a door for opening and closing the storage chamber. A basket may be installed at the door and a pressure sensor may be provided on the basket to detect a pressure applied by a storage item stored in the basket. A contoutput a control signal based on the pressure detected by the pressure sensor to a display that displays a residual amount of the item stored in the refrigerator.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a refrigerator and its operating method. Background technique [0002] In general, a refrigerator cools a storage compartment (eg, a refrigerator compartment and a freezer compartment) using a refrigeration cycle device including a compressor, a condenser, an expansion device, and an evaporator. Items may be stored in baskets installed on the door of the refrigerator or freezer and on shelves installed in the refrigerator or freezer. [0003] In such a refrigerator, a part of the freezer or refrigerating chamber door may be transparent so that the inside of the freezer or refrigerating chamber and items stored therein can be seen from the outside without opening the door. However, users may prefer that the interior of the refrigerator is not always visible. Furthermore, if the container stored in the refrigerator is opaque, even if the container is visible from the outside, the amount remaining in the container cannot...
