A parking brake for open type motor vehicles comprises a pulse switch mechanism, a follow-up pedal mechanism, a shifting fork mechanism and a magnetically-controlled pawl mechanism, wherein the follow-up pedal mechanism is combined with shifting fork mechanism. The pulse switch mechanism comprises a pulse switch key handle, a tension spring, a swing arm, keys and a connector bar, wherein the tension spring, the swing arm, the keys and the connector bar are arranged in a switch shell. The follow-up pedal mechanism comprises a parking brake pedal and a pedal rod, the upper end of the pedal rod is provided with a shifting form with a groove, and the switch key handle of the pulse switch mechanism is inserted in the groove of the shifting fork.
