Abstract

In one embodiment, a pickup system comprises a wind detector and a wind suppressor. Wind detectors have: multiple analyzers, each configured to analyze the first and second input signals; and a combiner, configured to combine the outputs of the plurality of analyzers, and based on the combined outputs to issue a wind level indication signal representing wind activity. The analyzer is selectable from a set of analyzers that includes the Spectral Slope Analyzer, the Ratio Analyzer, the Coherence Analyzer, the Phase ANOVA Analyzer, and so on. The wind suppressor has: Ratio calculator, configured to generate the ratio of the first and second input signals; and a mixer, configured to select one of the first or second input signals based on the wind level indication signal and ratio and apply one of the first or second screening factors to it.
