Abstract

Provided in an embodiment of the present invention are a target image block decoding and encoding method, and a decoder and encoder. The decoding method comprises: obtaining predictive information of a target color palette from the received data rate of the target image block; determining the set of matching elements in the color palette template according to the predictive information; determining the set of target elements according to the predictive information and the set of the matching elements; and decoding the target image block according to the set of the target elements. The embodiment of the present invention predictively encodes the target color palette using for example the predictive information to reduce encoding overhead of the target color palette, thus improving compression efficiency of video images employing the multi-stage BCIM-based scheme.
