Embodiment Construction

[0048] Several embodiments of wind turbine foundations are shown in the drawings, which will be disclosed herein as non-limiting examples. The same reference numerals refer to the same parts in the description of the drawings.

[0049] figure 1 An offshore wind turbine 100 installed on an ocean S is generally shown. The offshore wind turbine 100 mainly includes a nacelle 110 mounted on the upper end of a tower 120 . The nacelle 110 of the offshore wind turbine 100 is provided with a rotor hub 130 provided with blades 140 for capturing wind action for electricity production.

[0050] In the specific and non-limiting embodiment shown in the figures, the wind turbine foundation includes a jacket substructure 150 , wherein the jacket substructure 150 is disposed at a platform 156 in the bottom of the transition piece 125 . The jacket substructure 150 is formed from a plurality of tubes 155 connected to each other. as attached figure 1 As shown in , transition piece 125 is pro...

Abstract

It comprises at least one substantially elongated pin (250) associated with a wind turbine tower (120) and at least one corresponding substantially elongated pile (210) to be inserted into a surface (SB) and adapted for receiving at least one portion of the pin (250). A chamber (260) is defined between the pin (250) and the pile (210) for receiving grout. At least one of the pin (250) and the pile (210) is provided with connecting plates (300a, 300b) extending inside the grouting chamber (260) which are provided with holes (310a, 310b) through which the grout passes. The connecting plates (300a, 300b) may extend radially inside the grouting chamber (260), aligned or not to each other or with the centre (C) of the pin (250) or the pile (210).

Description

[0001] This application claims the benefit of European Patent Application EP 12382171.2, filed May 9, 2012, and US Provisional Patent Application No. 61 / 669,473, filed June 9, 2012. [0002] A foundation for a wind turbine as defined in the preamble of claim 1 is disclosed herein. The present wind turbine foundation is particularly suitable for, but not limited to, wind turbine foundations in offshore structures. A wind turbine comprising such a base as defined in the preamble of claim 16 is also disclosed herein. Background technique [0003] For wind turbine applications, several types of foundations are known in the art. One common type of foundation that is particularly well known in many offshore structures is the pile foundation. Pile foundations are widely used to transfer structural loads to the ground. [0004] A pile foundation can consist of a single pile (called a monopile foundation), or a number of piles arranged in different ways, as required. [0005] Piles...
