The electronic device capable of displaying the icons provided by a portable terminal comprises a connection conformation portion, an information acquisition portion, a name availability judgment portion, an analysis portion, an alteration portion and a display portion; the connection conformation portion is used for determining whether the portable information terminal is connected or not; the information acquisition portion is used for acquiring icon associated information of application programs on the portable information terminal when the connection conformation portion is connected; the name availability judgment portion is used for judging whether or not icon name information is included in the icon associated information acquired by the information acquisition portion; the analysis portion is used for analyzing icon size information and the icon name information which are included in the icon associated information; the alteration portion is used for altering the icon sizes into the same size according to a result judged by the name availability judgment portion and a result analyzed by the analysis portion; the display portion is used for displaying the icons with the sizes altered by the alteration portion.
