The invention provides a panoramic video monitoring method and device orienting large-scale scenes. The device comprises front end video capture coding equipment and data transmission equipment. A large-scale scene monitoring system comprises software and hardware of data acceptance, video decoding, video processing, output coding and the like. The method finishes the steps of video data acceptation, video decoding, video registering, GPU real-time splicing and color fusing. Panoramic monitoring image sequences obtained through splicing fusion are continuously output to display equipment through an HDMI/DVI for displaying; meanwhile, real-time coding of a panoramic monitoring image is supported, and transmission and storage are carried out through a network. According to the method and the device, the splicing effect and the splicing quality of panoramic videos can be ensured, the efficiency of video splicing is improved, the real-time demand is met, and the obtained panoramic videos are natural and real. In actual application, the requirement of follow-up panoramic video splicing can be well ensured, installation arrangement of site equipment can be simplified, and the implementation is high.
