Abstract

The invention provides an instrument panel positioning method and an instrument panel manipulator. The instrument panel manipulator comprises a cross beam tong, a connecting positioning mechanism, a rotary mechanism, a positioning device, a scanning device and an adjusting device, wherein the cross beam tong is used for grapping the upper part of an instrument panel; the connecting positioning mechanism can be matched with the lower part of the instrument panel; the rotary mechanism can drive a grapping device to rotate, enables the instrument panel to turn over, and enables the instrument panel to move in the direction of the axis of a rotary shaft of the rotary mechanism; the positioning device comprises a hinge tong and a first servo motor; the hinge tong is driven by the first servo motor and can lock a car body hinge; the scanning device is used for gaining position information of the instrument panel; the adjusting device comprises a harmonic gear and a second servo motor; the harmonic gear is driven by the second servo motor; the adjusting device can adjust height of the instrument panel. With adoption of the instrument panel positioning method and the instrument panel manipulator, the instrument panel can be rapidly and accurately assembled on a car body to enable decoration of the instrument panel to be matched with interior trim of a lateral door sheet.
