Abstract

The invention discloses access control equipment and an authentication control method. The method comprises the following steps: detecting whether a message arriving at the access control equipment is an authentication initiation message or not, wherein the authentication initiation message is used for initiating an authentication process for a terminal sending the authentication initiation message; and limiting the rate of the access control equipment for receiving the authentication initiation message. The equipment and the method provided by the invention have the advantages that whether the message arriving at the access control equipment is the authentication initiation message or not is detected, and the rate of the access control equipment for receiving the authentication initiation message is limited to control the number of the terminals entering subsequent authentication, so that the avalanche effect of wireless authentication caused by an excessive number of the terminals simultaneously entering the subsequent authentication is avoided, smooth completion of the whole authentication process of the terminals currently carrying out the subsequent access authentication is ensured, and the system authentication efficiency is improved.
