The method may comprises the steps of when a mobile original (MO) call is initiated, receiving a circuit switched fallback (CSFB) indication, wherein the CSFB indication is used for indicating a terminal device to fall back to a 2G network; acquiring a system message of a first cell in the 2G network, wherein the system message of the first cell comprises a first signal strength threshold of the terminal device for residing in the first cell; and if a current signal strength of the first cell is weaker than the first signal strength threshold and stronger than a reside signal strength threshold of the terminal device in a preset cell, registering the first cell. In the prior art, when the terminal device initiates the MO call and then falls back to the 2G network according to the CSFB indication, the cell may not register on the network.
