Abstract

The invention discloses an automatic configuration-free balancing control method and device for MDSs and a storage medium. The method comprises the steps that multiple MDSs are uniformly deployed on various nodes in a cluster in advance; when expanding is needed, on inactive node is selected from the cluster, one MDS on the inactive node is controlled to be in an operation state, and the other MDSs on the inactive node are controlled to be in a backup state; when switching is needed, the target MDS in the backup state is selected from the target node where the to-be-switched MDS is located, and the state of the target MDS is controlled to be switched to the operation state. Due to the fact that the MDSs deployed on the nodes are same, the problem that the MDSs are too concentrated can be effectively solved; in addition, no matter when expanding or switching, at most one MDS on each node is in the operation state, therefore, uniform configuration of the MDSs on the various nodes in a file system can be achieved, and deployment balancing can be achieved without complex configuration.
