Problems solved by technology

[0005] This type of projector has the following disadvantages: as the operating time becomes longer, the brightness of the lamp 1 decreases, so the projected image becomes darker
However, the problem is that if the user removes the lamp from the projector in order to check the lamp, the projector detects it as replacing it with a new lamp
[0009] Also, where the user properly employs multiple lamps in order to obtain the desired brightness, it is not possible to count the operating hours of each lamp
Also, there is a problem that since each individual lamp may have slightly different light emission characteristics, the brightness and color may change depending on the lamp to be set
Well, the technology disclosed in Document 1 is quite different from the present invention

Embodiment Construction

[0031] Next, embodiments of the present invention are described with reference to the accompanying drawings. figure 1 is a block diagram illustrating the structure of a projector according to an embodiment of the present invention. figure 1 Among them, the projector according to the embodiment of the present invention is constructed as follows: a lamp 1, a light engine 2, a projection lens 3, a power supply 4, a power supply circuit 5, a ballast circuit 6, an electrical connector 7, and a 10. Detachable lamp part 8, storage circuit 9 and main circuit 11.

[0032] The projector according to the embodiment of the present invention is not limited by the method of the light engine 2 and is applicable to, for example, transmissive and reflective liquid crystal projectors using LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) devices and DLP (Digital Light Processing) using DMD (Digital Micro Mirror Device) devices )Projector. The power supplied from the power supply 4 to the projector itself is su...

Abstract

This invention provides a projector capable of correctly informing a user of replacement time of a lamp and significantly improving performance and operation reliability. A storage circuit is mounted in a detachable lamp unit for accommodating a lamp, and information on the lamp and so on are stored in the storage circuit. If the switch of a projector proper is turned on, a main circuit reads lamp operating time up to the last time from the storage circuit, and compares the read operating time to replacement time of the lamp stored in advance so that the light is emitted from the lamp if the operating time is less, and display for prompting the lamp replacement is performed if the operating time is more, and the light is emitted from the lamp thereafter. If the switch of the projector proper is turned off, the main circuit adds the operating time of this time to the operating time of the lamp up to the last time read from the storage circuit on turning on the switch and writes it to the storage circuit.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a projector and a lamp information management method therefor, and in particular, to a light source and its peripheral structure. technical background [0002] As for the projectors, there are transmissive and reflective liquid crystal projectors using LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) devices, DLP (Digital Light Processing) projectors using DMD (Digital Micro Mirror Device) devices, and the like. [0003] Image 6 Indicates an example of the structure of the projector. exist Image 6 Among them, the power supplied from the power supply 4 to the projector itself is supplied through the power supply circuit 5 to the ballast circuit 6 for emitting light from the lamp 1, the main circuit 11 for creating image signals, and the like. The ballast circuit 6 is connected to the lamp 1 in the removable lamp part 8 by an electrical connector 7 in order to emit light from the lamp 1 . [0004] An image signal 101 is input to the main...
