Embodiment Construction

[0042] As shown in Fig. 1(a), an embodiment of the present invention is an on-site point-of-care diagnosis platform, generally denoted as 10, and its usage method. The on-site point-of-care diagnosis platform 10 includes a plurality of modules 12 . A variety of different modules may be included, such as, but not limited to, immunoassays, hematology, electrolytes, molecular diagnostics, coagulation, blood gases, chemicals, and the like. Modules 12 may share at least a portion of a common function of operation, such as fluid movement, sampling, and the like. In one embodiment, each module 12 contains common functions, as well as unique technologies corresponding to one or more selected chemistries. In the embodiment of FIG. 1( a ), module 12 is a plurality of single box inspection processing modules.

[0043] Platform 10 can provide multiple discreet inspection functions in a standardized manner. Modules 12 may have a common operating platform. Examples of common operating s...

Abstract

A point of care diagnostic platform is provided that has a plurality of modules. A plurality of analytic cartridges are provided. Each cartridge is associated with a module and is configured to directly accept a blood sample from a standard blood draw tube.

Description

technical field [0001] In general, the present invention relates to a point of care diagnostic system having a plurality of modules and associated cassettes, and in particular, the present invention relates to a point of care diagnostic system comprising a plurality of modules sharing a Common QC protocol. Background technique [0002] Blood and other body fluid tests are important diagnostic methods in patient monitoring and treatment. Test reliability and accuracy are critical to correctly diagnosing patients and administering appropriate treatment. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has established many quality standards for various blood or body fluid tests. Monitoring the inspection process is beneficial to produce reliable and accurate inspection results. [0003] One way to monitor the inspection process is to periodically perform surveillance inspections on standard inspection samples. Comparison of monitoring inspection results with expected results to ve...
