PRIORITY
[0001] This application claims priority to co-pending U.S. Provisional Application No. 60 / 832,665 filed Jul. 24, 2006.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The present invention is directed to the field of tools used in drywall construction. In particular, small sanding blocks are used to manually sand sheetrock drywalls after spackling. Currently, these manual sanding blocks suffer from the defect that the blocks are used with no device to collect the dust that is generated as a result of the sanding process. Consequently, a large amount of dust falls to the floor and requires a substantial clean-up effort. The present invention is directed to providing a solution to this problem by providing a device that encloses the sanding block and collects the dust generated during sanding so that clean-up is much easier.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0003] A dust collection device adapted for use with a hand held sanding block comprising an outer hollow shell generally rectangular in shape compri...

Embodiment Construction
[0011]The present invention will now be described in connection with the presently preferred embodiment as illustrated in the drawings. However, many obvious modifications may be made thereto without departing from the scope of the present invention. In addition, the embodiment described herein is illustrative and should not be construed to limit the scope of the claims of the present invention.
[0012]The present invention is directed to a dust collection device 10. The dust collection device 10 is adapted for use with manual sanding blocks 12. The sanding blocks 12 are presently available from a variety of sources for use in sanding sheetrock walls after spackle is applied to the sheetrock.
[0013]The dust collection device 10 is illustrated in the drawings and will now be described in detail. The dust collection device 10 is generally rectangular in shape and adapted to be somewhat larger than the sanding block 12.
[0014]The dust collection device 10 comprises a generally hollow outer...
