Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present disclosure generally relates to a cosmetic kit for applying a product including a cosmetic, a treatment or a medicine to a keratinous substrate, such as the skin, lips, eyelashes, under the eyes, eyebrows, eyelids, cheeks, nails or any other part of the body. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a cosmetic kit including an application member that provides a thermal effect on the user's skin during application. Background Art
[0002] There are devices for dispensing cosmetic, care or pharmaceutical compositions. Some cosmetic, care or pharmaceutical compositions may include therapeutic substances, such as local anesthetics, analgesics, fragrances, menthol, or other substances that provide a soothing or stimulating sensation when applied to the user's skin.
[0003] In addition to therapeutic substances, thermal transfer treatments (e.g., the application of heat and / or cold) are also known to provide a soothing or stimulating sensation when applied to a user's skin. These thermal transfer treatments are performed separately after applying the cosmetic composition to the skin.
[0004] In order to avoid a separate heat transfer process, various cosmetic kits with metal applicators are known. The metal applicators are used to deliver a hot or cold sensation when the cosmetic composition is applied to the skin. This is particularly true for eye contour products, for which cosmetic manufacturers believe that providing a cooling effect on the skin when the composition is applied can reduce wrinkles, remove eye bags, reduce signs of fatigue, firm or tighten the skin and / or make a person look instantly younger.
[0005] This benefit is related to the effect of momentary vasoconstriction, which results in reduced blood flow when the skin comes into contact with the composition, thus providing a cooling sensation upon application.
[0006] Known types of cosmetic kits having a metal applicator with a complicated assembly to dispense cosmetics are not cost-effective.
[0007] Therefore, there is a need for an applicator member of a simple structure that can not only deliver a hot or cold sensation when applying a composition to the skin, but also can evenly apply the composition to the skin.
[0008] Furthermore, there is a need for an applicator member that is comfortable and easy to use. Summary of the invention

When the valve is received in the opening of the shell, the flange of the valve rests on the edge of the shell neck.
[0020] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, an applicator tip assembly includes a first application member and a second application member. At least a portion of the first application member and the second application member defines an active applicator member that can be used to contact the user's skin during the five magic. The active applicator member includes at least two branches, namely a first branch and a second branch, which at least partially define and surround an inner cavity. Each of the first branch and the second branch is partially formed by the first application member and partially formed by the second application member. The first and second branches converge at the distal end of the active applicator member. In an exemplary embodiment, the first branch and the second branch converge toward the distal end. According to this embodiment, the inner cavity has a substantially elliptical shape. However, in alternative embodiments, the inner cavity can have any other suitable shape.
[0021] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first application member is made of a heat transfer material that does not react with or resist the cosmetics stored in the housing. The heat transfer material is a metal, preferably stainless steel, so as to give a hot or cold sensation when in contact with the user's skin. The hot or cold sensation provided by the heat transfer material further improves the soothing effect and stimulates facial skin metabolism and improves skin elasticity. However, in alternative embodiments, the heat transfer material can be any other metal, such as aluminum, titanium, brass, silver, gold, steel, carbon, carbon fiber, nickel, tin, copper, brass, its alloy or any other metal known in the art. In yet another alternative embodiment, the heat transfer material can be a non-metal, such as ceramics, glass, stone, high-density plastics, composite materials, whether natural or synthetic, or any other material known in the art that can retain and transfer heat or cold over a period of time.
[0022] During application, thermal energy is applied to the user's skin for heating or cooling. Contact of the thermal element with the product may also result in heat being transferred into or out of the product. Thus, in some embodiments, the user will feel a thermal sensation (warming or cooling depending on the thermal energy in the thermal element), in other embodiments, the product will warm or cool, and in other embodiments, both the product and the user's skin will be affected by the heat of the thermal element.
[0023] According to alternative embodiments, the heat transfer material may include or be coated with a material or substance having antimicrobial, antiseptic or antibacterial properties.
[0024] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the first application member is arched and defines the distal portion of the active applicator member. The first application member includes an outer curved surface and an inner curved surface. The first application member includes a first branch portion that at least partially defines the first branch of the active applicator member and a second branch portion that at least partially defines the second branch of the active applicator member. More specifically, the first branch portion defines the distal portion of the first branch of the active applicator member, and the second branch portion defines the distal portion of the second branch of the active applicator member. The first branch portion and the second branch portion define a tapered tip at the distal end of the active applicator member. At least one groove is formed on the inner curved surface of the first application member. More specifically, there is a groove on each inner curved surface near the proximal end of the first branch portion and the second branch portion of the first application member. However, in an alternative embodiment, the first application member may not be arched, but may be any other shape known in the art.
[0025] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, at least a part, preferably the whole, of the second application member may be made by molding, for example by injection molding, for example from a material selected from the following list: thermoplastic material; elastomer; thermoplastic elastomer; thermoplastic elastomer polyester, for example of nitrile rubber; silicone rubber; ethylene propylene terpolymer rubber (EPDM); styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS); styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS); polyurethane (PU); ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA); polyvinyl chloride (PVC); polyethylene (PE); polyethylene terephthalate (PET); polypropylene (PP); this list is not restrictive.
[0026] Furthermore, the second application member includes a first portion, a second portion and a third portion.
[0027] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first portion defines the distal portion of the second application member. The first portion has an open U-shape having an inner curved surface and an outer curved surface. The inner curved surface faces the inner cavity. The first portion of the second application member includes a first branch portion, which partially defines the first branch of the active applicator member. More specifically, the first branch portion of the first portion of the second application member defines the proximal portion of the first branch of the active applicator member. The first portion of the second application member includes a second branch portion, which partially defines the second branch of the active applicator member. More specifically, the second branch portion of the first portion of the second application member defines the proximal portion of the second branch of the active applicator member. However, in an alternative embodiment, the first portion of the second application member may not be an open U-shape, but any shape known in the prior art. Each of the first and second branch portions of the first portion of the second application member includes a protrusion extending upward from each of the free ends of the first and second branch portions of the first portion of the second application member. The protrusions of the first and second branch portions of the first portion of the second application member are received in the corresponding grooves of the first and second branch portions of the first application member to snap-connect the first and second branch portions of the first and second application members to each other. However, in alternative embodiments, the first application member and the second application member may not be connected to each other by the grooves and protrusions, but may be connected to each other by any other method known in the art.
[0028] Furthermore, the outer curved surface of the first application member and the outer curved surface of the first portion of the second application member form an active application surface.
[0029] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the second application member has a through-passage extending in the longitudinal direction, the through-passage passing through the first portion, the second portion and the third portion of the second application member.
[0030] In addition, the channel of the second application member ends at at least one dispensing hole, and the at least one dispensing hole is located on the inner curved surface of the first part of the second application member. Therefore, the inner curved surface of the first part of the second application member forms a dispensing surface. The dispensing hole distributes the cosmetics moved from the reservoir of the housing through the channel to the inner curved surface of the first part of the second application member, so that the cosmetics are transferred or deposited on the keratinous matrix, which is further applied by the active application surface.
[0031] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the product delivery channel extends from the reservoir inside the housing through the channel to the dispensing hole of the first part of the second application member of the applicator tip assembly to provide the cosmetic product to the dispensing hole. The product delivery channel in the applicator tip assembly, the channel and the dispensing hole together define a dispensing path. The product delivery channel can discharge the cosmetic product to the dispensing surface through the dispensing hole.
[0032] Furthermore, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the inner curved surface of the first application member and the inner curved surface of the first portion of the second application member define a boundary of an inner cavity that receives the cosmetic dispensed through the dispensing hole.
[0033] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, there is only one dispensing hole in the dispensing surface. However, in alternative embodiments, there may be more than one dispensing hole on the dispensing surface.
[0034] Furthermore, the dispensing aperture in the dispensing surface is coaxial with the central longitudinal axis of the applicator tip assembly. However, in alternative embodiments, the dispensing aperture in the dispensing surface may be offset from the central longitudinal axis of the applicator tip assembly.
[0035] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the dispensing aperture is circular. However, in alternative embodiments, the dispensing aperture may take any shape or form as long as it provides an effective conduit to dispense the cosmetic product.
[0036] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the first application member and the first portion of the second application member are formed in the shape of a drop with a tapered tip. The tapered tip helps to reach corners or areas of the keratinous matrix that are difficult to reach. However, in alternative embodiments, the tip may not be tapered and may be any other shape known in the art.
[0037] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the second portion of the second application member defines the middle portion of the second application member. The second portion of the second application member of the applicator tip assembly comprises a trapezoidal shape having an outer curved surface. However, in alternative embodiments, the second portion of the second application member of the applicator tip assembly may not be a trapezoidal shape, but may be any other shape known in the art.
[0038] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, at the proximal end of the second part, a stepped-out portion is provided. In addition, the stepped-out portion of the second part of the second application member of the applicator tip assembly is configured to be seated on the flange of the valve when the cosmetic kit is in a closed state.
[0039] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the third portion of the second application member defines the proximal portion of the second application member. The third portion of the second application member is cylindrical, comprising a first cylindrical portion, a step-out portion, and a second cylindrical portion having a tapered end. However, in alternative embodiments, the third portion of the second application member may not be cylindrical, but may be circular, oval, rectangular, or any other shape known in the art.
[0040] The third portion of the second application member of the applicator tip assembly is received within the valve such that the third portion of the second application member is slidable within the valve along the longitudinal axis by a predetermined distance.
[0041] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first portion, the second portion, and the third portion of the second application member of the applicator tip assembly are integrally formed to reduce manufacturing costs or for any other desired reasons. However, in alternative embodiments, the first portion, the second portion, and the third portion of the second application member of the applicator tip assembly can be formed as separate components.
[0042] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the valve accommodates a spring, and wherein the spring surrounds the second cylindrical portion of the third portion of the second application member. One end of the spring abuts against the lower surface of the step-out portion of the third portion of the second application member, and the lower end of the spring abuts against an inner stop located near the inner surface of the bottom end of the valve. The spring biases the applicator tip assembly in an upward direction.
[0043] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the closure of the cosmetic kit has a thread on its inner surface, which is threadedly connected to the thread formed on the outer surface of the shell neck. When the closure is screwed on the shell, the closure pushes the step-out portion of the second part of the second application member of the applicator tip assembly downward toward the shell, so that the step-out portion abuts the flange of the valve and the applicator tip assembly cannot move further downward. In the closed state, the tapered end of the second cylindrical portion of the third part of the second application member closes the two orifices formed in the valve, so that the valve remains closed. The spring is compressed and maintained in a biased state in a closed structure, in which the closure is connected to the shell. An axial gap is left between the inner flange of the valve and the upper surface of the step-out portion of the third part of the second application member.
[0044] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, when the user wants to use the cosmetic kit and unscrews the closure from the housing, the closure moves away from the disengagement portion of the second portion of the second application member. The spring is not compressed and is in an unbiased state, causing the step-out portion of the third portion of the second application member to pass through the axial gap and abut against the inner flange, while the tapered end of the third portion of the second application member moves away from the two orifices of the valve, which ultimately causes the valve to open. Once the valve is opened, the orifice of the valve allows the cosmetic to enter the channel, and the cosmetic is dispensed onto the dispensing surface through the dispensing hole.
[0045] According to a first embodiment of the present disclosure, an applicator tip assembly includes a first application member and a second application member. The first application member is a solid tip made of a heat transfer material and has a large available area for applying the product to the user's skin. The first application member includes a front surface, a rear surface, a top surface, and a side surface. The second application member is similar to that described in the above embodiment and includes a first part, a second part, and a third part. The first part includes a first branch and a second branch. The first part also includes an inner curved surface and an outer curved surface. The inner curved surface faces the inner cavity. The distribution hole is located on the inner curved surface of the first part of the second application member. The distribution hole distributes the cosmetics moved from the reservoir of the housing to the inner curved surface of the first part of the second application member, so that the cosmetics are transferred or deposited on the keratinous matrix, which is further applied by any one of the front surface, rear surface, or top surface of the first application member, or can be applied by the side surface of the first application member and the outer curved surface of the first part of the second application member.
[0046] According to an alternative embodiment of the present disclosure, the first application member forms at least 50% of the total area of the active applicator member.
[0047] However, in alternative embodiments, the first application member may not be a solid tip, but a hollow tip.The distal end of the applicator tip assembly is not a tapered tip as shown in the exemplary embodiment.
[0048] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the valve is used as a delivery mechanism. However, in other embodiments, any suitable delivery mechanism may be used.
[0049] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the application surfaces of the first application member and the second application member may include flat, convex and / or concave features. In addition, a portion or the entire application surface A may be textured. It can be understood from the present disclosure that the application surface A is generally intended to contact the user's skin, and the application surface A may include any shape or feature that can provide a desired feeling to the user.
[0050] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the cosmetic kit includes an independent applicator tip assembly and a housing. However, in an alternative embodiment, in order to reduce manufacturing costs, or for any other desired reasons, some or all of the parts of the applicator tip assembly and the housing may be integrally formed.
[0051] While the foregoing is directed to embodiments of the present disclosure, other and further embodiments of the disclosure may be devised without departing from the basic scope thereof, and the scope of the disclosure is determined by the claims that follow. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
