Problems solved by technology

[0009] Another cause could be purely mechanical wear of the actual safety and rescue equipment due to mechanical impacts that occur when the tall building moves due to movement occurring between the rope and the metal parts. The rope of the rescue equipment is damaged by the metal part holding the rope

Embodiment Construction

[0028] exist figure 1 In , reference numeral 1 denotes the whole safety and rescue equipment to be equipped on a tall building so that it can be used by people who need to leave the tall building for some reason in an emergency.

[0029] Generally, the tall buildings may be wind power generators, drilling platforms, towers and other high-rise buildings, antenna towers and the like.

[0030] The actual safety and rescue equipment is of a well known type.

[0031] as in figure 1 As seen in , the device includes polyamide rope 2 , flexible joint 3 , union nut 4 , spring hook 5 , locking slide 6 , locking mandrel 7 , locking ball 8 and hand wheel 9 . Components 3-9 may be fabricated from aluminum.

[0032] exist figure 2 middle, figure 1 The safety and rescue equipment is packaged in the vacuum packaging unit 10. This vacuum packaging unit can include 12 micron mylar, 7 micron aluminum and 200 micron Constructed laminates wherein the adhesive layer is disposed between the...

Abstract

A method of packaging safety and rescue equipment ( 1 ) as well as a package for packaging it, formed by a light-impermeable vacuum package, in whose surface an inspection window ( 13 ) is optionally provided as well as a moisture indicator ( 14 ) behind this inspection window and a drying means inside the package. The safety and rescue equipment is used in tall structures in particular, such as in windmills, on drilling platforms and in antenna masts. According to the invention, the safety and rescue equipment is protected against the weather, UV light and mechanical impacts that may occur between the line of the safety and rescue equipment and the metal parts to which the line is secured, which means that it is just necessary to inspect it in intervals of about 6 years as against normally 1 year.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method of packaging safety and rescue equipment comprising metallic and non-metallic parts each moving relative to each other. [0002] Furthermore, the invention relates to a packaging device for packaging safety and rescue equipment comprising metallic and non-metallic parts each moving relative to each other. [0003] Finally, the invention relates to the use of the method and packaging device. Background technique [0004] US Patent No. 3,712,568 discloses a vacuum packaging device for a single-person parachute. The vacuum packaging device includes a top piece and a bottom piece applied around two metal connectors such that the two metal connectors are fixed between the top piece and the bottom piece and penetrate to the outside of the vacuum packaging device. [0005] For tall buildings, such as wind turbines, drilling platforms, multi-storey buildings, towers, bridges and antennas, it is required that safety a...
