Abstract

The invention discloses a firmware updating system and a method. An input and output control unit is connected with a memory unit which is used for memorizing the firmware of a monitoring chip so as to provide the updating data of the monitoring chip by the input and output control unit. The memory unit writes the updating data into the memory and furthermore, is written into the memory unit so as to update the firmware in a method that the write-in of the input and output control unit is carried out periodically by the memory. Therefore, the system and the method of the invention can update the firmware without the requirement of the monitoring chip and improve the safety and efficiency of the firmware updating of the monitoring chip.
