System and method for inquiring vocabularies

Abstract

The invention provides a system and a method for inquiring vocabularies. The method comprises the followings steps of: 1) establishing a database for storing multiple groups of homophonous vocabularies and contents thereof; 2) inputting a character string to be inquired; 3) inquiring the vocabularies and the contents thereof with the same sound as that of the input character string in the database and accordingly, generating a candidate vocabulary list; 4) outputting the candidate vocabulary list; and 5) selecting or determining the vocabulary to be input from the candidate vocabulary list. The system and the method are used for inquiring the homophonous vocabularies and the contents thereof, so effects of improving input correctness and assisting users in learning are achieved.
