Abstract

The invention relates to a method for loading an application requiring personalization in a portable storage medium designed for operating in a terminal device. Personalization data for personalizing the application and optionally application data are additionally loaded in a restoration module independent of applications stored in an application memory, said module being designed as non-volatile memory and disposed within the portable storage medium or within the terminal device. In order to update an application, the personalization data and optionally application data are loaded from the restoration module into the updated application. A portable storage medium has a non-volatile, application-independent restoration module. The invention further relates to a system having a storage medium and terminal device and non-volatile, application-independent restoration module.
