The invention provides an online cleaning method for a thermal printing head of a magnetic read-write ticket printer, and the method is characterized in that during the ticket printing process of the magnetic read-write ticket printer, a controller judges whether the current printed ticket is an invalidated ticket by means of comparing the magnetic information read by a magnetic read-write devicewith preset writing magnetic information, when the controller judges that the current printed ticket is an invalidated ticket, the invalidated ticket is sent to a thermosensitive printer by a paper delivering channel, the controller controls a heating element on the printing head of the thermosensitive printer to heat at a preset temperature, the set temperature is higher than or equal to the melting point of a protective layer material on the surface of the ticket, thus softening or melting the attachment on the printing head; and then, the attachment on the printing head can be erased through utilizing the contact and relative motion of the invalidated ticket and the printing head. According to the invention, during the ticket printing process of the magnetic read-write ticket printer, original invalidated tickets are automatically used as a medium for cleaning the printing head in an online manner so as to complete the cleaning on the printing head of the thermosensitive printer, and the problem of the prior art that the printing head needs to stop timely for cleaning by special persons is solved.
