Abstract

Provided is a low voltage control method for a variable frequency air conditioner. An alternating current power supply is rectified through a rectifying module, a power factor of the alternating current power supply is corrected through an insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) module, and then the alternating current power supply is inverted through an intelligent power module (IPM) and supplied to a compressor. When voltage of the alternating current power supply is lower than 187V, a central processing unit (CPU) controls the IGBT module and the IPM to appropriately reduce the highest operation frequency of the compressor to lead the air conditioner to continue to operate. When voltage is low, the upper limit value of the operation frequency is adjusted to be low and operation frequency of the air conditioner is appropriately reduced so as to achieve the purpose of ensuring reliable work of a controller provided with the IGBT module and avoiding incapability of operating of the air conditioner.
