Abstract

The invention discloses a management method and a system for disk mirror images. The method comprises establishing source disk mirror images on a plurality of shared storage devices in advance, then establishing the disk mirror images in a breast mode, locally establishing the disk mirror images on each shared storage device according to the source disk mirror images on each shared storage device, and lastly, responding to an establishing request of a virtual machine, and providing established disk mirror images to the virtual machine. Therefore, time required for copying the disk mirror images in establishment of the virtual machine can be reduced. When the virtual machines are established in large-scale, the plurality of shared storage devices can share the disk mirror images based on a virtual machine request, average time used by copying mirror image files is greatly reduced, disk mirror images of a resource pool are accessed at any times, and efficiency for establishing the virtual machines can be improved. Under the condition of sufficient resource pool quota, 'zero delay' of establishment of the mirror images can be achieved.
