Abstract

The invention provides a liquid crystal composition which has negative dielectric anisotropy. The liquid crystal composition comprises a compound of a general formula I accounting for 1-30% of the total weight of the liquid crystal composition, and 15-70% of a compound of a general formula II-1 and/or II-2, and 10-55% of a compound of free general formula III. The liquid crystal composition provided by the invention can be used for a liquid crystal element, and has properties of low viscosity, high response speed, excellent low-temperature reliability and the like. The liquid crystal composition provided by the invention is especially suitable for liquid crystal displays such as VA, PSVA (Polymer Stabilize Vertical Align), PS-IPS and the like. The invention also provides a liquid crystal display comprising the liquid crystal composition.
