The implementation method comprises the following steps: reserving an expansion port at the top end of the external antenna; connecting the external antennal with the PCB board of the communication terminal; idling the expansion port, covering a first frequency band by the external antenna; arranging an expansion radiator in the expansion port, covering a second frequency band by the external antenna. The tunable external antenna and the implementation method thereof can cover a plurality of substantially adjacent low frequency bands, thus making the integration of a plurality of high performance low frequency antennas be possible.
