Abstract

An embodiment of the invention discloses an application starting method and a mobile terminal. The method comprises: if detecting pressing action on a pre-set key of the mobile terminal by a user and first touch operation on a fingerprint identification region of the mobile terminal, determining an application type corresponding to the pre-set key according to a mapping relation between the pre-stored pre-set key and an application type of an application in the mobile terminal; determining an application with the application type which corresponds to a first touch duration of the first touch operation in N applications corresponding to a first touch track of the first touch operation; determining an appointed historical progress of an application corresponding to the first touch duration according to a pre-stored mapping relation between a first fingerprint input by the first touch operation and the historical progress of the application in the mobile terminal; and starting the application and adjusting the current progress of the application to be earlier than or equal to the appointed historical progress. According to the embodiment disclosed by the invention, the convenience and accuracy of starting the application of the mobile terminal can be easily improved.
