The invention discloses a control method and a control device of display equipment, and the corresponding display equipment. The control method comprises the steps of: selecting extended display identification data EDID information matched with a data format according to the data format of an obtained video signal; and controlling the display equipment to display the video signal in the corresponding data format according to the selected EDID information. According to the display equipment, the control method and the control device thereof, EDID data matched with the data format can be selected according to the data format of a signal input by signal source equipment or the data format input by a user, and the EDID data can be used by the display equipment when displaying the video signal.
